What Sets DOT & Company Apart?
Whether they appreciate it or not, every digital marketing agency is in the client management business. And any marketer worth their salt has probably done their fair share of Account Management. So DOT & Co. offers solutions for client management … but isn’t that what we all do in our agencies, anyway? Do you really need dedicated Account Managers?
Short answer: yes, you really, really do!
Slightly longer answer: we are a growing team of dedicated, highly trained, and highly professional Client Account Managers. Client Account Management is all we do, and we do it extremely well. We’ve developed a set of processes and standards that allow us to be premium Account Managers. And we work inside of agencies, offering a totally unique and totally effective service.
Our goal is always to make life easier—for you, your team, your clients, and, ultimately, your business margins! Our team offers a host of services: client on-boarding, daily client communication, weekly client meetings, project management, subcontractor management, campaign and project reporting, client invoicing, and client gifting (phew!). In other words, we handle all that pesky client management ‘stuff,’ so that you can handle all the revenue-generating business ‘stuff.’
We Are: Fractional Account Managers
Many agency owners find themselves in a chicken-or-egg situation when it comes to client management. Do you grow the business so you can finally afford to hire a Client Account Manager (CAM), or do you hire a CAM so that you can finally grow the business?
Thankfully, this doesn’t have to be an either-or, chicken-or-egg scenario. Hiring a fractional Account Manager lets you keep costs in check, and can help you grow your business, at the same time.
“I've been able to grow the non-service-based side of my business, which has been a dream come true,” says DOT & Co. client Kerry Swetmon.
Don’t worry—our CAMs work white label. That means that your clients will feel like they’re getting a full-time team member from your agency. And like we’ll cover next, our CAMs are so well trained that they can do in one hour what might take someone else a whole morning (or more). So your client won’t be missing out on quality, while you’ll be getting as much or more than you would from a full-time Account Manager.
And yes, your DOT & Co. CAM can completely take over client management, allowing agency owners to step out of that role. But they can also work alongside any in-house Account Managers you have. This can be a great help if they’re swamped or needing more expertise.
In either scenario, passing over some or all of client management duties to a trained and reliable professional helps you and your team focus on what you do best (which will hopefully include growing your business!).
We Are: Trained Account Managers
When we say our Account Managers are highly trained, we mean it. Not only do all of our team members go through an extensive vetting process. They also go through an intense training process through our CAM Community.
In this unique experience, they learn all the ins and outs of successful client management. This includes access to our tried-and-tested standard operating procedures (SOPs), along with scripts and templates that are virtually guaranteed to delight your clients. They also learn strategies, best practices for a variety of platforms (like Asana and Slack), our secret sauce to successful client onboarding, and tips and tricks to get the most out of client communication and meetings.
When you hire a fractional Account Manager with us, they’ll need about a month or so to learn the unique ins, outs, and quirks of your agency, i,e.: how you like to run things. But after that first month, they’re really able to shine. You’ll never have to train them how to speak to clients, how to manage projects, or how to properly communicate. All of that is already trained!
“Our CAM is just phenomenal,” says DOT & Co. client Lydia Martinez. “In that first week, she really dove in and made a point of learning the systems that were in place, creating some templates for things that we needed. She made a point of connecting individually with each of the existing team members and talking about, what is your role? What is your job? What are your pain points? How can I help support you?”
We Are: Superstar Account Managers
Of course, some things can’t be trained. We get thousands of applications a year, but only hire one or two new CAMs a month. That’s because we want to ensure that everyone on our team is an ‘A’ player. Beyond specific skill sets, we’re also looking for that je ne sais quoi of being a great Client Account Manager — things like work ethic, independence, and confidence.
Plus, everyone on our team is a marketer, first and foremost. Whether they’ve worked on the agency side or the client side, they know how to talk the talk and walk the walk.
All of this means that our CAMs are already premium to begin with, and they’ve been trained in our methods. In other words, they’re what we call ‘unicorn status!’
We Are: The Glue Inside Your Digital Marketing Agency
Finally, we don’t just manage clients for your agency. Our goal is always to be the glue in your agency. We can talk to clients, manage projects, work with subcontractors, handle all the invoicing and reporting … basically, we do everything we can to make sure that nothing falls through the cracks. Ever.
This doesn’t just keep your clients happy (although that’s what we do best!). It also keeps your team happy, with everything they need, when they need it. And trust us: life is just better when things are running smoothly and efficiently. Who wants to work with or for a disorganized agency?
In short, because we offer full-service Client Account Management services, we actually offer a whole lot more. More white space on your calendar, more room for big ideas, more time to catch a breath, more opportunities to grow. "When my agency started working with DOT & Company, we utilized their onboarding systems and immediately were able to begin scaling, bringing in 3, 5 and up to 7 clients at one time with ease,” says client Brandon Smits. “Highly recommend!"
