Three Reasons A Remote Team Is Better For Your Bottom Line
We’re proud to say that we’ve always been remote, even before the pandemic. We know that our unicorn-status Client Account Managers can have an incredibly fulfilling life AND an incredibly rewarding career AND provide incredibly great services to our clients, all from the comfort of their own home (or the cottage, or the beach in Costa Rica!).
We know our CAMs love the flexibility that comes from this line of work (fill out an app to join our team here!). We believe that having a remote lifestyle really elevates our team, and that it can elevate yours, too. From client onboarding and invoicing to sub-contractor management and project reporting and everything (and anything!) in between, trust us: it can all be done just as well, if not LOTS better, remotely.
Specifically, here are three reasons going fully remote can benefit your digital marketing agency.
1. Remote Working Empowers Your Team
Let’s cut to the chase: remote workers are empowered workers, and empowered workers are the ones who are going to show up to work excited each day.
People everywhere are demanding more flexibility and freedom from their jobs. And having control over your day (i.e.: being treated like an adult!) just makes life better. If you can get your work done snuggled up in your favorite blanket or with a cat in your lap, then more power to you!
Everyone on our team knows that we trust them to get their work done. ‘Micromanaging’ just isn’t in our vocab!
Of course, we know we can trust our team, because of our careful selection and training process. So make sure you’re hiring the right people, and then be willing to trust them, too. Good Client Account Manager Training for Agencies can help.
2. Remote Working Leads To More Productivity
So … we’ll admit it. A lot of us in digital marketing are Chatty Cathys! We got into this space because we love interacting with people … and so we can easily get roped into conversations when there’s someone in the next cubicle.
On the flip side, it's great to be able to pour our coffee, sit at our counter, and crush our inbox in the morning. Trust us: you can get more done in 45 minutes this way than most can in several hours!
Not only does this make life better and easier, but it also allows us to work and communicate more effectively. Ultimately, we can do more for our clients in less time, saving them money without sacrificing results.
Don’t get us wrong. We’re still a connected team, and we’re always available to each other on Slack. But it’s so much easier for us to set personal boundaries around our focus time when we’re all remote. We just add that little fire emoji to Slack, and our colleagues know not to disturb (soooooo much easier than kicking people out of your office!!!).
3. Remote Working Saves Money—And Spend Better
OK, so it’s a no-brainer that not having an office means you don’t have to pay office rent and related costs. And those cost-savings are great. But what really matters to us is what else we can now do with that money.
In short: the money that we would have spent on rent, now gets spent on our team, ensuring they have everything they need to be productive and engaged.
Ultimately, remote work frees your agency up to spend your money the way you really want to. For us, that looks like coffee shop dates and other fun perks for our team. Perhaps for you that will mean better training for your team, a rebrand, or funds to bring on more Client Account Managers. You know best how to spend your hard earned cash, and it’s probably not on rising rent costs!
All in all, we love the remote life. It’s what we preach to our clients, it’s how we attract our awesome CAMs, and it’s how we all live our best lives. And there’s no doubt in our minds that remote is going to be the future for digital marketing agencies everywhere.
