Client Management Isn't What You Think It Is
When we talk about the life of a Client Account Manager, there's a lot that goes into this role. Not only are CAMs client-facing and in-charge of client relationships, there's a ton of other PM facets and operational pieces that go into the role that can sometimes be overlooked.
We like to call ourselves: The glue between the digital marketing agency and their clients.
In this episode of the Happy Clients Podcast, we get a lil bit more granular on what our roles really entail. Of course, this looks different from agency to agency! All in all, we hope you'll see just how critical our roles are as a superhero in the agency 🦸♀️
The truth about Client Management:
Our role can include lots of admin work — don't get us confused with a VA, because the admin work we do is marketing-focused and project management-focused. We take pride in keeping all the pieces moving together in unison so that our clients experience the best possible results from an agency that is working together cohesively.
There are lots of meetings internally with the agency — again, this is to ensure nothing is falling through the cracks and clients are always prioritized in conversation.
We create processes galore— we need to be tech-savvy and process-oriented in order to be suuuuuper efficient in our role.
To be honest, there sometimes is a bit of hand holding and pushing things to completion internally. When a client is unhappy, we are the translators to the media buyers, creatives, web dev, you name it. Conversely, we also are required to keep a tight ship and make sure all tasks are pushed over the finish line 🏁
The proof is in the pudding. We take charge on reporting and digging into the advertising data to ensure our clients are educated on the progress of their campaigns and ad spend. From being client-facing to numbers-driven, we see ourselves as the key component to ensuring our clients know what's up.
If you don't know, now you know! 💡
As CAMs, we become experts in wearing all the hats and probably wouldn't have it any other way. We take pride in our work and always try to have fun while doing it. Cheers to that CAM life ✌️
Until next time,
Taylor
